Inspirational Mom Quotes To Get Through Those Hard Days

Motherhood ain’t easy! Being a mom is hard!

That’s why even though moms are actually superheroes in disguise, we need a little encouragement too. These inspirational mom quotes are here to lift you up and give you a little boost on those hard days (when you want to pull your hair out).

I always knew I wanted to be a mom. I was always a nurturer and loved children. That’s one of the main reasons I became a teacher.

As most moms will tell you, it’s the hardest job out there but also the most rewarding.
These inspiring quotes for moms can be a powerful pick-me-up and remind you why you work so hard every-single-day!

I’ve only been a mom for the past 3 years now and it’s like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. It’s transformative, it’s all-consuming, it’s exhausting and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

So, this post is a tribute to all the amazing moms out there. I’ve rounded up all my favorite inspiring quotes about motherhood, some mom truth bombs (struggling mom quotes because we’ve all been there) and some motivational mom quotes too.

Inspirational Mom Quotes For Self Care

Motherhood, although amazing, can become draining and leave you with little for yourself if you aren’t taking care of yourself too.

I talk more about this in my post on mom burnout (and tips for how to deal with it).

One of the tips I mention is the power of positive affirmations in our daily lives.

Positive thoughts lead to a positive mindset which leads to positive actions.

These mom encouragement quotes are a step in the right direction. Being a happy mom means thinking like a happy mom and being kinder to ourselves.

These oh so relatable and inspiring quotes about being a mom motivate me every day.

Give it a try!

Inspiring Quotes for Moms

The need to be a perfect mom can be overwhelming sometimes. We want to give our kids everything (and that usually means neglecting ourselves).

But, seriously, give yourself a break!

Your kids won’t’ notice- TRUST ME!

What they need isn’t perfection. They love you anyway.

Here are some motivational mom quotes to inspire your motherhood journey.

“Your kids don’t want a
perfect mom.

They just want a
happy one.”

Let go of the mom guilt.

That doesn’t do anyone any good.

Give yourself some grace to make mistakes.

One day I’m super mom- getting all the things done- organic healthy breakfast/lunch/dinner menu, pre-planned sensory and fine motor toddler activities, the works!

Then, other days, he’s eating eggs and a paratha that I grabbed out of the freezer.

We do the best we can and that’s okay!

I love this short and sweet mom quote about being an imperfect but awesome mom.

There is no way to be a perfect mother but a million ways to be a good one.

being a mom is hard quote

Like I was saying earlier, this motherhood thing is my JAM. It’s one of my greatest joys and a role that I’m so proud to have.

I know many moms who don’t want their personhood to be defined by being a mom and that’s cool. Do you!

But for me, this is the best and most important role I will ever play. I feel like motherhood has changed me into the person I was always meant to be.

“I’m proud of many things
in my life,
but nothing beats
being a mother.”

This inspiring mom quote totally resonates with me because it’s completely true. My whole world changed the moment I laid eyes on my baby boy.

He truly healed my heart, he’s my rainbow baby. I waited so long to become a mom and losing my first pregnancy was so devastating.

Although I’ll never forget (I don’t even want to) the baby I never met- I’m so happy to have my sweet boy and I’m grateful for this gift every day.

“The most magical
day of my life
was the day I became
a mother.”

You gotta agree, there ain’t no hood’ like motherhood.

At no other time in my life have I felt like such an emotional mess. All at once, you’re incredibly happy and sad (that they’re growing up so quickly, that this time is so fleeting) and exhausted (from no sleep and the million things you do every day) and so so proud!

What a rollercoaster ride!

You’d think I’m in perpetual PMS- but no- that’s just mom-life for you (and I wouldn’t change it for anything). Overwhelmed moms (I think this is all of us at some point), this quote is for you:

Motivational Mom Quotes For Those Days When It’s hard Being a Mom

Some days it can be super tough just to get out of bed in the morning. There’s a lot of days that you feel like you’re doing everything wrong.

Then, there are those days when everything that could possibly go wrong, does go wrong.

Here’s some quotes to get you through those overwhelmed mom days.

Just know it won’t last forever.

You got this thing!

“Remember when you found out you were pregnant and thought
how am I going to do this?
You did.
Remember when you had a crying newborn and thought
how am I going to get through this?

You did.
Remember when you had a strong-willed, defiant toddler and thought
how am I going to make it through?”
You did.
When days are hard, just remember this:
You have. You can. You will.

Motherhood is basically just waking up every day and making a choice: a choice to put someone else’s well-being, happiness, and needs above your own.

Sometimes I don’t know if its a choice or just instinct but I’m not okay unless he is.

You’ll make the wrong decisions, you’ll beat yourself up for doing it wrong and you’ll keep doing it over and over again because they’re worth it.

“The most amazing moms aren’t the one’s that always seem to have it all together. They aren’t the ones that never struggled. They aren’t the ones with all the answers.

They’re the one’s that
never stop trying.

Sometime’s all you need is a little mom humor.

Just let the little things go.

Breath. Laugh a little.

Get your coffee on and keep on keeping on.

funny quotes about being a mom and mommy motivation quotes

Wanna know if you’re a “good mom”? I found a pretty great definition of a good mom and it goes something like this:

“A Good Mom has:
bad days and great days, normal days and overwhelming days, perfect days and trying days, super mom days and flying-by-the-seat-of-your-pants days.
What doesn’t change:
everyday is a whole lotta love day, a love you even more than yesterday- kinda love day, a forever kinda love day.

Trust me, if you’re a mom: YOU ARE A SUPERHERO, PERIOD!

And even super heroes have bad days.

As it turns out, it was never a dress.

Here’s a strong mom quote because you’re awesome!

Quotes about being a super mom

Just remember that what you do every single day makes a difference in a tiny human’s life.

If at the end of the day, everyone feels safe and loved, you’ve done your job.

To the world
You are a mother,
but to your family
you are the world.

Positive Mom Quotes + Funny Mom Quotes

To survive this thing called motherhood, you really need to have a sense of humor. You gotta learn to laugh at yourself and let things go.

No, we won’t always be perfect but our hearts are in the right place. It’s okay to admit it, we love them but YES- they can drive us crazy sometimes (and that’s perfectly okay to say out loud, no judgment here).

Motherhood is 50% feeling like your head’s about to explode and 50% feeling like your heart’s about to explode.

Here are some funny, relatable mom truths and mom jokes to make you smile if you’re having one of those hard days.

Who can relate?! This is totally me (he’s not supposed to have sugar anyway).

funny mom truth quotes

Seriously though, why is it that the people that want to sleep have to put the people that don’t want to sleep to bed?!

The struggle is all too real.

Bedtime
Brush teeth
Pjs On
Read a book
Lights Out
PUT THEM BACK IN BED
PUT THEM BACK IN BED
PUT THEM BACK IN BED
THREATEN EVERYTHING THEY LOVE
PUT THEM BACK IN BED

So I’ve just started to navigate the treacherous terrain that is the terrible twos!

This one was so true LOL!

So many feelings and not so many ways to get them out.

Encouragement For Moms Quotes

When you find yourself at your wit’s end, or being negative or hard on yourself, STOP!

Try reciting one of these positive affirmations instead.

Get into the habit of positive thinking.

Women are such an amazing source of support for each other and often uplift each other, but when it comes to ourselves, we tear ourselves down!

This needs to stop!

You need to start being your own cheerleader.

If you wouldn’t say it to your best friend, then mama, don’t say it to yourself! Next time you find yourself being unkind, say one of these things to yourself out loud.

I’m doing the best I can
as a mom.
That is
enough

Please give yourself some grace.

Your best is always enough.

They love you even when you aren’t at your 100%.

You are totally allowed to have a bad day.

Taking care of me allows me
to be the best mom.
A happy mom means happy
kids

You need to prioritize yourself and don’t feel guilty about it.

You can’t pour from an empty cup.

Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

Things may be difficult but not
impossible.

I know I have everything I need to
succeed

Take things one day at a time, one tantrum at a time, one spill at a time.

I know mom life can get overwhelming but you got this, like so many times before, you’ll get it done.

Not loving every moment of
motherhood

doesn’t mean I don’t love being a
mom

Sometimes it feels like you can’t just vent because you sound ungrateful for this life. But seriously, you’re only human, it’s okay!

You don’t have to love every single moment of motherhood, sometimes it’s hard, it feels like it’s going to break you, you feel like a meltdown might ensue.

It’s okay to feel what you feel. These moments pass and at the end of it all, you still love your children and you still love being their mom.

That’s what sticks.

At the end of the day, all a mother wants is a happy and safe home for her kids. And it just hurts that when things happen that is out of control and we can not fix it.

I love these mom quotes! The quote about our kids just wanting a happy mother is spot-on. I used to drive myself crazy trying to be the perfect mother and thought I always had to be busy in the process. My kids and I are all happier now that I have learned to ease up and simply have more fun.
